Date Posted: 08/01/2012

Harewood House in Yorkshire will be hosting two royal exhibitions this Jubilee year; Royal Harewood: Celebrating the Life of The Yorkshire Princess; and Marcus Adams: Royal Photographer, Photographs from the Royal Collection, both running from 31st March to 17th June.

Harewood House was home to Princess Mary, The Princess Royal through four decades, and Royal Harewood aims to remember ‘The Yorkshire Princess’ in this special exhibition. Displaying for the first time many personal items such as gifts from heads of state, exquisite fans, and presents from royal relations; alongside family photographs, portraits and period footage; visiting groups will have the chance to view Harewood as the family home it has always been.

Marcus Adams: Royal Photographer displays a special collection of photographs on loan from the Royal Collection. Capturing the early life of the young Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret, as well as Princess Elizabeth’s first sitting, the pre-war years, and a new generation of royals with Prince Charles and Princess Anne; the portraits range from formal to fun.

Group travel organisers planning a visit to Harewood House for more than 15 people are entitled to free admission. Additional group benefits include complimentary familiarisation trips, free coach parking, plus a welcome on the coach.
