Buckingham Palace

The Royal Collection Trust has announced its programme of exhibitions, displays and group visits at the official royal residences and The Queen’s Galleries for this winter and going into 2018.

The highlights of the year will be the Summer Opening of Buckingham Palace, which will include an exhibition marking the 70th birthday of The Prince of Wales, and an exhibition at The Queen's Gallery, Buckingham Palace, exploring the rich material world of Charles II's court.  

Windsor Castle

At Windsor Castle this Christmas, the special visit Restoring Windsor: The Castle after the Fire will return for a second year, offering group visitors a unique opportunity to learn more about the devastating fire of 1992. Work is currently underway to bring new experiences to Windsor Castle in the future.

The Queen's Gallery, Buckingham Palace

Opening in December 2017, Charles II: Art & Power will tell the story of the restoration of the monarchy in 1660 after over a decade of austere Cromwellian rule. 

In January 2018, Charles I: King and Collector will reunite what is described to be one of the most extraordinary and influential art collections ever assembled. 

Splendours of the Subcontinent, opening in June 2018, will celebrate the South Asian treasures in the Royal Collection through two exhibitions: A Prince's Tour of India 1875–6 and alongside this, Four Centuries of South Asian Paintings and Manuscripts.

From November 2018, Russia: Royalty & the Romanovs will tell the story of the familial, political, diplomatic and artistic associations between Britain and Russia.

The Queen's Gallery, Palace of Holyroodhouse

In December 2017, Splendours of the Subcontinent: A Prince's Tour of India 1875–6 will tell the story of the Prince of Wales's four-month tour of the Indian Subcontinent at the end of the 19th century.  

Canaletto & the Art of Venice, opening in May 2018, will display a selection of 18th-century Venetian art, presenting Canaletto's works alongside paintings and drawings by his contemporaries.

From November 2018, Charles II: Art & Power will explore the role of the arts in the re-establishment of the Stuart monarchy following the restoration of 1660.
