The Ironbridge Gorge Museums in Shropshire has launched a new private talks and tours programme for groups.

Available on selected dates for parties of 20 to 40 people, special interest groups can choose from a range of topics including the history of fashion, decorative tiles, and ceramics.

Changing Shape of Fashion: Georgians to the New Look, is a lecture led by the curator of the museum’s costume collection, looking at the fashion time line from the 1700s to 1950s.

Groups with an interest in fashion may also enjoy Distinctive Dress - Quaker Clothing in a Fashionable World; providing insight into the history of Quaker clothing. The talk will also include a visit to the Darby Houses.

If you’re organising group travel for anyone with an interest in ceramics and porcelain, private tour, Coalport - By Design, will highlight the decorative themes of the famed Coalport China on a visit to Coalport’s China Museum.

Finally at the Jackfield Tile Museum, pre-booked groups can join the curator for a private tour of the site, which will include her favourite items from the extensive collection.

Group travel organisers should note that pre-booking is required. Tea and coffee is also included in the ticket price.
