Pillars of Faith exhibit at Salisbury Cathedral

Date Posted: 10/07/2012

The artist Greg Tricker brings his exhibition Pillars of Faith to Salisbury Cathedral on the 29th September.

Running until the 4th November, it will be based on the theme of saints and comprise 20 pieces of contemporary art in a mix of  2D and 3D artworks with stained glass, wood and stone sculptures, wood carvings, and paintings.

Groups can expect to see St Joan, Mary the mother of Christ, Mary Magdalene, St Francis, St Joseph, St Bernadette, St Clare, St John and Christ himself represented. The display will also include a collection of significant new pieces on the theme of St Joan d’Arc, created specifically for this setting.

Greg Tricker’s profound style of painting is deeply rooted in a mystical tradition of art. Qualities of myth, an innocence of spirit akin to the folk art tradition, and a powerful theatrical element are the key features and influences in his work.
