Opera Festival Announced

The 22nd Gilbert and Sullivan Festival returns to Harrogate in 2015.

Taking place in the Royal Hall between 3rd and 23rd August, the festival will pay homage to the Victorian-era theatre partnership credited with innovating opera.

The 2015 programme will feature four operas from the festival's resident National Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company – The Gondoliers, The Mikado, HMS Pinafore and Patience.

An additional 13 companies will compete for the prestigious International Festival Champion’s Trophy, including the Cape Town Gilbert & Sullivan Society from South Africa with their production of The Mikado, and Blue Hill Troupe from New York with Patience.  

Most shows will take place in the Royal Hall, and there will be a special concert by operatic baritone and festival favourite Donald Maxwell on Sunday16th August in the Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond.

Group discounts are available. Tickets are 10 per cent less for groups of 10 to 29 and 15 per cent less for groups of more than 30.
