Open days at Upminster Mill

Date Posted: 15/01/2015

On selected weekends during April and September, Upminster Windmill in Essex will hold open days during which groups can visit the site from 2pm to 5pm.

Groups will be taken round in parties of ten, as and when visitors arrive, with no need to pre-book.

Upminster Windmill was built by James Nokes, a local farmer, in 1803. It is a Grade Two listed building and in terms of quality, completeness and significance it is widely considered to be amongst the very best remaining English smock mills.

The windmill staff can take groups on tours during the week, but this must be pre-booked online.
