One Man, Two Guvnors transfers to the Theatre Royal Haymarket

Date Posted: 21/12/2011

One Man, Two Guvnors will transfer from the Adelphi Theatre to the Theatre Royal Haymarket (TRH), opening on the 2nd March and currently booking until the 15th September. Following its transfer, Owain Arthur will take over the role of loveable chancer Francis Henshall.

News of the transfer follows two sell-out record-breaking runs at the National and Adelphi Theatres. The production plays its final performance at the Adelphi on the 25th February, with casting to be announced shortly for the TRH transfer.

Based on Carlo Goldoni’s The Servant of Two Masters, Richard Bean’s award-winning adaptation of the classic Italian comedy is directed by Nicholas Hytner. Owain Arthur, who has previously been understudying the role of Francis Henshall as part of the West End company, has also been seen in Nicholas Hytner’s National Theatre production of The History Boys, as well as Romeo and Juliet for the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Comedy of Errors for the Royal Exchange Theatre and Birdsong at the Comedy Theatre.
