Norwegian Cruise Line reveals innovative new cruising concept

Date Posted: 20/03/2012

Revealing its innovative new cruising concept, Norwegian Cruise Line has unveiled plans for The Waterfront and 678 Ocean Place on its newest ship Norwegian Breakaway, launching in April next year.

The original concept features an ocean-front boardwalk lined with shops, restaurants and bars, combined with three expansive decks of dining, bars, entertainment and gaming. Promising to take cruising to new heights, group passengers will be able to enjoy al fresco dining while admiring the ocean, along with three action-packed decks boasting a range of entertainments.

Located on the eighth deck, The Waterfront will be the setting for eight outdoor dining and lounging options, including signature favourites such as Moderno Churrascaria, Cagney’s Steakhouse, La Cucina, Shaker’s Cocktail Bar, and Malting’s Beer & Whiskey Bar. A gelato bar will also feature.

Also on deck eight and promoted as the hub of the ship, 678 Ocean Place will intertwine and connect the three decks of day-time and night-time amusements. There will be a total of 17 dining venues combined on both 678 Ocean Place and The Waterfront, along with 12 bars and lounges. Norwegian Breakaway also presents new dining concept, Ocean Blue - the cruise line’s first ever all-seafood restaurant, which will include a premium raw bar along with separate sushi bar.

Entering service in April 2013, Norwegian Breakaway will sail from its year-round homeport of New York City to Bermuda in the summer; and the Bahamas & Florida and the Caribbean in the winter.
