New wine and cheese tasting for groups at Kents Cavern

Kents Cavern in Torquay, Devon, is offering new bespoke packages for visitors, including a new wine and cheese tasting session.

The natural cave is a Stone Age site with history that is thought to go back more than 400 million years, and a tour of the natural attraction can now be completed with the Cavern Wine and Cheese Tasting session.

Groups will be able to enjoy Sharphams wine which is produced in a vineyard just 15 miles away from Kents Cavern and Bays Brewery’s local ales, as well as a sample of Sharpham cheese.

Sharphams Vineyard specialises in the making of traditional wines and cheeses.

Kents Caverns’ list of new bespoke sessions also includes an Ales Underground experience and Champagne by Candlelight.

The Ale Underground sessions will allow visitors to sample a selection of Bays finest ales, freshly baked rolls, local chutney and Sharphams cheese.

The Champagne by Candlelight sessions will involve canapes and champagne in the underground tunnels.

Groups visiting Kents Cavern can explore the caves and discover how the cavern was used by Neanderthals, ancient humans and Ice Age animals.

There is a visitor centre, a café and a gift shop.

Private tours of the caves can be arranged for groups of 20 or more.

There are cave and food packages available which give groups the chance to enjoy food either in the visitor centre or for a more bespoke experience – underground.

Groups can also combine their visits to the caves with a trip on a steam train, a visit to Torquay Museum, Torre Abbey and the National Trust.
