New Visitor Centre To Open At Bolney Wine Estate %7C Group Travel News

A new visitor centre offering a viewing balcony, café and shop will open on the 15th July at Bolney Wine Estate.

The visitor centre – which took six months to build at a cost of £350,000 – will offer groups the chance to enjoy a meal overlooking 18 acres of vines on the viewing balcony.

The 100 sq ft viewing balcony will be able to be booked privately for groups, and will oversee the chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines, which are two of Bolney Wine Estate’s premium varieties.

The centre will also feature a new café serving local produce, and a new retail shop selling wine, local produce and wine accessories.

Sam Linter, master wine maker and owner of Bolney Wine Estate commented: “We have always known that we are very lucky to have the opportunity to create great wine in such incredible surroundings.

“It is the Sussex hills that make our wine so special, we wouldn’t be able to make the award winning vintages without the unique terroir of the Sussex soils and local micro-climate.

“We can’t wait to welcome visitors to our beautiful spot and share the full Bolney Wine Estate experience. The new balcony has stunning views of the vineyard and on a sunny day there will be no better place to be.”

Throughout the summer, the estate will host events such as evening meals, pop-up restaurants and workshops, as well as summer evening tours for the first time.

Tours and tastings for groups will be running too, including taster and afternoon tea tours.

The experiences include a tour of the vineyards, a view of the winery and the chance to sample wines.

TV presenter Olly Smith, who often appears as a wine expert on the BBC show Saturday Kitchen and ITV’s This Morning will officially open the new centre.
