New Petit Train Arriving In Guernsey %7C Group Travel News

Visitors to Guernsey will soon be able to explore the island on a new Petit Train.

The white and gold train has already been shipped over from France and, from the end of May, will operate along a  non-stop 35-minute circular route from the island’s capital..

The Petit Train will depart from Albert Pier at St Peter Port and will include commentary designed to highlight key landmarks and tourist attractions around the island.

It will carry up to 60 passengers in three carriages and will also provide an insight into the history and culture of the island.

Mike Hopkins, director of marketing and tourism commented, “VisitGuernsey is delighted with the arrival of the Petit Train. We are keen to support the development of tourist attractions on Guernsey and the train is a positive addition for visitors to St Peter Port providing a glimpse into our rich heritage as well as the chance to see some key sites in comfort and in a short time frame.

“In particular our cruise line passengers will benefit greatly and we hope that the overview the train gives them will inspire them to return to the island for a longer visit.”

Guernsey’s Petit Train will be the second in the channel islands. One already operates successfully in Jersey.

This route departs from Liberation Square at St Helier and journeys to St Aubin Paris Hall with full commentary on the way.
