New England’s Titanic Experience

Date Posted: 13/12/2011

New England attraction, Mystic Aquarium - located two hours south of Boston, USA - will unveil its new blockbuster exhibit in April. Titanic - 12,450 Feet Below opens to commemorate the centenary of the sinking of the infamous ocean liner, and will enable visitors to experience life sailing aboard the Titanic.

The first person to see the transatlantic liner since 1912 was Dr Robert Ballard in 1985. The new experience, complete with HD interactive video, will combine Dr Ballard’s account with the creative vision of former Walt Disney Imagineer Tim Delaney, and aims to transport group visitors back 100 years to the fateful transatlantic crossing.

The visit starts in the glamour of the luxury liner, with its elegant staterooms. But the romance is short-lived as icebergs come into sight and the Morse code warnings click out, before reports of a collision. Groups can explore the interactive touch screens and displays, read headlines from around the world, and discover the myths and legends surrounding Titanic which have developed over the past century.
