New CEO for GTOA

Mike Bugsgang is to become the new chief executive officer for the Group Travel Organisers Association (GTOA).

The new position of CEO was created following a recent restructure at the organisation. Bugsgang will officially start in the role on 1st March.

Reporting to the newly constituted Board of the Association, headed by chairman Yvonne White, Bugsgang will be responsible for developing the future strategy for the GTOA, including plans for membership, events and marketing.

Bugsgang is no stranger to the world of travel and tourism. He is currently the managing director of tourism PR company Bugsgang & Associates and has held positions at Hilton International Hotels, Ladbroke Hotels & Holidays and the London Tourist Board in the past.

He is also currently a board director at the Tourism Society and a former chairman of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Travel Industry Group.

Commenting on the appointment, GTOA chairman, Yvonne White, said: “I am delighted we have secured the services of Mike Bugsgang to become the association’s very first chief executive.

“He brings with him a wealth of experience covering the inbound, outbound and domestic tourism markets.”
