National Trust Groups Guide 2012

Welcoming group visitors to its historic properties and destinations next year, from stately homes and castles to glorious gardens, the National Trust has unveiled a number of new highlights for 2012.

Stowe in Buckinghamshire is set to unveil its brand new visitor centre. Located on the site of the historic coaching inn, the restored inn aims to conjure up the experience of early Georgian visitors, while providing 21st century facilities to complement a visit to the gardens.

Chedworth Roman Villa in Gloucestershire will also re-open following a major project, bringing to life the golden age of Roman Britain, with groups able to experience the new building providing all-weather access to the recently revealed mosaics. At Hardwick Hall, Derbyshire, the former stable yard has been transformed with improved access and new facilities, including the Great Barn Restaurant, serving food throughout the day.

All of these highlights and more are outlined in the National Trust’s new Groups Guide 2012, designed to aid GTOs plan their group day out. The guide also includes details of the Trust’s special interest tours, including below stairs and behind-the-scenes. New tours will also enable groups the experience famous film locations or get close to magnificent wildlife.
