More key names join the big event for groups

Date Posted: 16/04/2015

More and more names are joining the 2015 Group Leisure & Travel Show, the biggest and most important exhibition for group organisers taking place on Thursday 22nd October at the NEC Birmingham.

The Group Leisure & Travel Show also joins forces with the prestigious Group Leisure Awards dinner the previous evening at the adjacent Hilton Birmingham Metropole, to make October 21st and 22nd the most important and best attended dates in the group travel calendar.

“These days it’s essential we have great content at the show to ensure our visitors really get excellent value for their visit,” says show director Graham Yandell.

“Every week there seems to be another small ‘groups’ show popping up somewhere and of course those organising these fringe events try to entice exhibitors with cheap deals and big promises. Visitors are often disappointed with an event they thought would be significant, only to find it is not. However, our exhibitors can definitely rely on our investment made for them and that the Group Leisure & Travel Show will deliver. There is also no doubt that many leading GTOs look to our show as the main networking and planning opportunity every year.”

Steve Latham of Cheswick Green & District U3A was typical when he gave his reaction at last year’s presentation: ““It’s been great. The range of exhibitors here is super. What I have done here is easily a week, probably ten days if I had to wait for the information to be returned to me. I can do it all in one go. To have an event once a year for group travel is super.”

Linda Cherry of Northdean Walking Group is another enthusiast: “We’ve come to get ideas and inspiration for our walking group. We don’t do much in the way of day trips but we do a lot of short breaks and holidays. One year we came and we finished up going to Russia – which was tremendous!” Whilst Janet Spooner of Travel Treats said: “I have got so many ideas from other people and from the exhibitors, for me it has probably been better than last year.”

Latest names added to exhibitor list

Latest names to add to the growing list of exhibitors are Visit Hull & East Yorkshire, The National Brewery Centre and Methodist Travel, who join organisations and venues such as Ticketmaster, Success Tours, Fred Olsen Travel Group and Superbreak.

Graham concluded: “Not only do we have a fantastic range of exhibitors but our free seminar programme will be better than ever and will feature some great celebrity speakers. This is the big event in group travel at a major purpose designed exhibition venue and we are looking forward to meeting many old and new friends.
