Maurice’s Jubilee embarks on a regional tour

Date Posted: 12/11/2012

Written by Nichola McAuliffe, and directed by Hannah Eidinow, Maurice’s Jubilee is a timeless tale of an old man’s dream. Starring Julian Glover and Sheila Reid, the play will start its regional tour in Manchester.

Following a sell-out run at the 2012 Edinburgh Festival, the play will begin its nationwide tour in January and visit theatres across the UK until April.

Award-winning performances

Maurice’s Jubilee is about a man determined to reach his 90th birthday, which is the day before the Diamond Jubilee. Maurice is convinced that the Queen is coming to tea.

Olivier Award-winning Julian Glover plays Maurice, and Sheila Reid stars as Helena.

Writer Nichola McAuliffe also stars as a character called Kate. She won The Stage Edinburgh Award for Best Actress for the role.
