Tickets are now on sale for the first shows to be announced in the line-up for Manchester International Festival 2015, which will take place between 2nd and 19th July.

The first three shows in the programme are The Age of Starlight, which is a show written and presented by Professor Brian Cox, Tree of Codes, which is a contemporary ballet, and The Tale of Mr Tumble – a new theatre show for young children.

The show by Brian Cox will be based around the history of the universe and will feature cutting edge technology.

The Manchester International Festival was set up in 2007 and was dedicated to presenting new works across the spectrum of arts.

Highlights of previous festivals include Steve McQueen’s commemoration of fallen British soldiers Queen and Country, and an opera penned by Damon Albarn from Blur.
