Hard Rock Calling and the Wireless Festival, two of the UK’s premier music concerts, are to be staged at London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Stadium this summer.

The flagship locations of the 2012 Olympic Games will play host to these major musical events amongst others following the news that Live Nation Entertainment has secured exclusive rights to present concerts at the east London venue during 2012.

Centrepiece for live music in Europe

John Reid, president of concerts at Live Nation Europe, commented: “We are delighted to be staging music concerts at the London Olympics venue, which last year became a globally recognised site for outstanding performances - both in sport and music.

“Over the coming weeks, we intend to announce some major concerts with world-renowned artists, to firmly establish the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as the centrepiece for great live music in Europe.”

Hard Rock Calling and Wireless Festival

Events scheduled for this summer include Hard Rock Calling, which in the past has attracted world-famous headliners such as The Who, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, The Police, and Rod Stewart.

The 2013 Wireless Festival - which has previously featured popular UK and international artists including Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Example and Labrinth - will also be hosted at the park.

Group travel organisers should visit the Live Nation website for updates of further music acts and concerts scheduled for the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park throughout 2013.
