Major cast changes for The Phantom of the Opera

Major cast changes have been announced for Andrew Lloyd Webber musical The Phantom of the Opera.

From 3rd September, Broadway and West End actor Marcus Lovett will join the company as The Phantom.

A stage musical veteran, Marcus Lovett made his debut in the original Broadway production of Les Miserables, and has also played the lead role of The Phantom on Broadway. He also originated the role of The Man in the West End production of Whistle Down the Wind.

Also joining the cast is Simon Thomas as Raoul - last seen as Warner Huntington III in Legally Blonde at the Savoy Theatre; Lara Martins as Carlotta; and Anna O’Byrne, playing Christine at certain performances.

The Phantom of the Opera is currently in its 26th year at Her Majesty’s Theatre, London, having opened in October 1986.
