Magic Worlds at Weston Park

Date Posted: 22/03/2012

Weston Park explores the world of magic and illusion as Magic Worlds - an exhibition created by the V&A Museum of Childhood - opens on the 28th April.

Running until the 6th January, Magic Worlds invites groups to explore the fantastical realms of witches, wizards, and fairies, as well as celebrating the conjuring feats of the finest stage magicians. Bringing together a host of exhibits which explore the origins and history of magic, visitors can view a range of costumes, tricks, vintage toys, paintings, ceramics, illustrations, posters, puppets and games.

Particularly relevant for a children and family group trip, visitors can explore displays based on favourite fantasy tales, including Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. Highlights include film replicas of Harry Potter’s broomstick, and the One Ring from The Lord of the Rings.

Entry is free. Group travel organisers planning a visit to Weston Park, or any other of Museums Sheffield’s sites, can take advantage of behind-the-scenes tours and workshops in addition to a variety of other group options.
