Lumiere lights up Durham city centre

Date Posted: 05/08/2011

Durham city centre is preparing for the return of four-day light festival, Lumiere, which takes place this year from the 17th to 20th November.

With the 2009 event attracting more than 75,000 visitors to the historic city, Lumiere is set to transform Durham into a nocturnal wonderland once again, with its host of projections, installations and performances all made of light.

Group visitors will have the chance to see large-scale projections, neons and installations, as internationally-renowned and emerging local artists create a series of artworks to transform Durham’s landmarks, streets, river and bridges.
