St George's Hall%2C Concert Room

St George’s Hall in the heart of Liverpool’s St George’s Quarter has announced an eclectic Concert Room programme for 2016, with comedy, cabaret, spoken word and a variety of musical genres all lined up.

Musical events span from opera to jazz to pop. Saxophonist Yolanda Brown, jazz artists Barb Jungr, Jacqui Dankworth, and Ian Shaw, and brass Grimethorpe Colliery Band will all be performing in the spring, as will pop band The Three Degrees.

For those interested in comedy, Rob Beckett, who you may recognise from BBC1’s Live at the Apollo and BBC2’s Mock the Week will be performing on 15th April, Russell Kane’s Right Man, Wrong Age show will be live on 15th May and Mark Steele will be performing on 24th May. 

Spoken Word events include award winning journalist, writer, broadcaster and food critic Jay Rayner in his performance My Dining Hell as well as Kate Manning talking about her stage and screen roles, which span over 40 years in her show An Evening with Katy Manning.

All concerts will be held in the neo-classical Concert Room at Liverpool’s St George’s Hall on Lime Street. Charles Dickens is known to have given many readings on the stage.

St George’s Hall manager, Alan Smith said: “The Concert Room’s rich 160 year history makes it a unique venue and provides an intimacy with the audience only the very best performance arenas can provide.”
