The Times Cheltenham Literature Festival has unveiled the line-up for its 2011 presentation, scheduled to take place from the 7th to 16th October.

Featuring more than 500 events across the ten-day festival period, leading figures from the world of literatures, politics, travel and food will make appearances, with confirmed guests including explorer Ranulph Fiennes, shadow chancellor Ed Balls, broadcaster Evan Davis, choreographer Arlene Philips, and actress Celia Imrie.

With 2011 marking the centenary of the race to the South Pole, the theme of this year’s festival will be Voyages of Discovery, looking at some of the world’s greatest adventurers and their extraordinary journeys.

Additional highlights for visiting groups to look forward to include Time Travellers, taking audiences back in time to the Edwardian era; Royalty and Republic, with a series of events looking at republicanism and the changing role of the monarchy; and Finance and Economics, with finance and fiction lectures on authors such as Dickens and Shakespeare.
