Date Posted: 07/07/2011

The line-up for this year’s British Ceramics Biennial has been announced, and is to be staged in Stoke-on-Trent from the 30th September to 13th November.

Celebrating the rich history and heritage of the British Ceramics industry, as well as its vibrant present and future, the event will be spread across two main festival hubs - the former Spode factory site, The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery and AirSpace Gallery in the city centre.

As well as viewing installation highlight, the Great Wall, measuring some three-metres high and 30-metres long; visitors to Spode will have the chance to experience its history and meaning through work by five artists commissioned by the Biennial to make specific responses to the factory building.

Events in the city centre will include AWARD - the Biennial’s exhibition of current ceramic practice in the UK presented by The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery; while AirSpace will tackle an experimental approach to ceramics.
