Lee Miller photography exhibition at IWM London

Date Posted: 30/07/2015

Lee Miller: A Woman’s War, an exhibition of the artists’ wartime photography, will run at the IWM London from 15th October to 24th April.

Miller is seen as one of the most important female war photographers of the 20th century. The exhibition aims to show the unique perspective she had as a female photographer during and after World War Two, and features a number of items which have never been on display before.

Miller was one of only four female professional photographers to be accredited as US official war correspondents during World War Two.

The exhibition comprises four parts: Women before the Second World War; Women in Wartime Britain; Women in Wartime Europe; and Women after the Second World War.

Artworks, costume, objects, documents and ephemera will be displayed alongside the photographs.
