Kew Palace re-opens to groups

Date Posted: 06/04/2015

Kew Palace and the Royal Kitchens re-opened on 2nd April and will remain open for group visits until 27th September.

Combine a visit to Kew Gardens with a trip to the former family home of George III, Queen Charlotte and their 15 children.

Attractions include the King’s dining room where entertainments took place with some of his most famous subjects and friends, the wax face-cast of George III created by Madame Tussaud herself and displays of memorabilia including the dolls’ house from various periods of George III’s long reign.

Untouched since 1818, the royal kitchens at Kew are a fascinating insight into Georgian culinary life; you can see where the food for the royal table was prepared and cooked; learn about the people who worked there and read about the food that was served up and how.

Groups can book a guided tour of the palace and royal kitchens with a costumed palace expert.

Pre-book your group’s time slot when booking your visit to Kew Gardens, the palace is included in the gardens admission. Telephone 020-3166 6311, e-mail or visit
