Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart will hit the London stage this winter when the pair star together in Harold Pinter’s play No Man’s Land.
The play will run for a strictly limited run at the Wyndham's Theatre in the West End from 8th September to 17th December, following its original run on Broadway.
McKellen and Stewart both starred in the Broadway production of No Man’s Land, which ran from November 2013 to March 2014 and received critical acclaim.
Synopsis
No Man’s Land is set on one summer’s evening, when two ageing writers, Hirst (Stewart) and Spooner (McKellen), meet in a Hampstead pub and continue their drinking into the night at Hirst's stately house nearby.
As the pair become increasingly inebriated, and their stories increasingly unbelievable, the lively conversation soon turns into a revealing power game, which is further complicated by the return home of two sinister younger men.

More on No Man’s Land
Pinter's absurdist drama originally premiered in 1975 at the Old Vic Theatre. It was last seen in the West End in 2008 in a production which starred Michael Gambon.
The London production will feature set and costume design by Stephen Brimson Lewis, with lighting design by Peter Kaczorowski.

Ian McKellen’s stage credits include Coriolanus, Richard III, Uncle Vanya and The Seagull, while on screen he’s known for the character Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Magneto in the X-Men movies.
Also in the X-Men movies is Patrick Stewart’s character Xavier. Additionally, Stewart has numerous stage credits to his name including Anthony and Cleopatra, The Tempest, Macbeth, The Merchant of Venice, and The Master Builder.
