IF%3A Milton Keynes International Festival

IF: Milton Keynes International Festival will bring ten days of arts and performances to the town from 15th to 24th July.

The festival will open at nightfall on the 15th July with Voalá, a group of international aerial artists from Argentina, who will use the night sky as the backdrop for their performance.

The show tells the story of four suited businessmen who are swept up into the world of magic, distracted from their daily commute by a mysterious woman who unleashes four sirens, which transform the men’s evening into a magical flying performance.

Accompanied by live music, the performance brings together aerial acrobatics, music and colour. It will be staged at the Mini Bowl at South Willen Lake Park, in Milton Keynes.

Other shows taking place during the festival include the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain performing at The Stables Spiegeltent at South Willen Lake Park.

The all-singing, all-plucking ukulele orchestra, who have sold out shows at the Royal Albert Hall and the Sydney Opera House performing covers of Tchaikovsky, Nirvana, David Bowie and Otis Redding, will visit Milton Keynes for two performances on 16th July.

Circus ensemble, Gravity & Other Myths, have also been announced for the festival and will perform a display of strength, skill and creativity in their show A Simple Space.

Comedian Mark Watson, who can be recognised from TV shows Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, Have I Got News For You as well as the Radio 4 series Mark Watson Makes The World Sustainably Better, will present his new show I’m not Here on 17th July in The Stables Spiegeltent.

More events spanning music, comedy and cabaret will be announced shortly.

The Stables Spiegeltent will act as the centre for the festival and will include its own bar.
