Historic posting house reopens for business

Date Posted: 18/12/2014

Grade II listed Picton House Hotel in Llanddowror, west Wales, a former village posting house and forge has reopened its doors for business.

After lying empty for years, the hotel, where the resident blacksmith would shoe the carriage horses, has been restored to its former glory.

The hotel has been refurbished in keeping with the building, but has a quirky and contemporary feel with all of the mod cons that guests require.

Originally on the stage coach route from London to Tenby, small groups can now stay the night in one of the six bedrooms, along with four-legged friends if required, and explore the many bridal paths in the area.

Horses can stay the night in the hotel stables from £15.
