Historic journeys on the Welsh Highland Railway

Groups can now enjoy bespoke short break packages from rail specialist, Ffestiniog Travel, with the opportunity to travel on the newly-completed Welsh Highland Railway through Snowdonia National Park.

With a special joint Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland service running between Porthmadog and Caernarfon throughout February half-term, the final section of the railway is scheduled to officially open on the 20th April.

Rail enthusiasts can book an escorted 11-night Wales Spectacular Tour, departing on the 3rd September. Travelling through picturesque scenery from the Elan Valley to the heart of Snowdonia, the tour price includes all rail journeys, accommodation with breakfast, some meals and excursions, an aqueduct cruise and transfers.

With a host of special events taking place on the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways throughout the year, groups can also arrange tailor-made packages to include accommodation and train travel to rail events and a range of tourist attractions in Snowdonia.
