Historic dining at Cambridge University

Date Posted: 13/07/2011

GTOs planning a visit to Cambridge can now enhance their trip to the historic University City with a group lunch or dinner at a Cambridge college.

Groups can choose from a variety of historic rooms in which to dine, including the 450-year-old Wordsworth Room at St John’s College - which were the former living quarters of poet William Wordsworth when he studied at the university in the 1760s.

Booking is available through Conference Cambridge, the official venue-finding service for the University of Cambridge and its colleges.

Judith Sloane from Conference Cambridge said: “We have some wonderful historic rooms to choose from, seating any number of guests between 10 and 400. The opportunity to lunch in a Cambridge College is a memorable experience and adds a new dimension to the standard day trip.
