Harvey to open at London’s Theatre Royal

Date Posted: 20/01/2015

Opening for a strictly limited season, Mary Chase’s Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy returns to the stage.

Performed originally in 1944, this classic comedy will be performed at London Haymarket’s Theatre Royal.

Perhaps more popularly known for the 1950 film adaptation, the comedic tale of an affable man and his six-foot invisible rabbit friend, Harvey, will continue the rounds for the early part of this year.

Directed by Lindsay Posner and starring James Dreyfus as the harmless drunk Elwood P. Dowd, the new production will play from 17th March to 2nd May, with a gala night on the 23rd March.

The play will also be shown throughout February at the Birmingham Repertory and Malvern theatres and, including interval, will last approximately two and a half hours.
