Date Posted: 04/07/2012

Groups looking for an enjoyable scare this Halloween can schedule in a spooky trip to one of the ‘Treasure Houses’ of England.

Beaulieu presents Ghosts and Ghouls - Half Term Hauntings

From 27th October to 4th November, a crowd-pleasing programme at Beaulieu includes a Halloween quiz trail starting in the Motor Museum, spooky stories in Palace House, and tours with real ‘ghost hunters’ in the purportedly haunted abbey.

Blenheim Palace’s Halloween celebrations

Witches and Wizards will be scattered throughout the Pleasure Gardens for a spellbinding Halloween Hunt between 27th October and 4th November. Between 3rd to 4th November performance storyteller and author Cat Weatherill will bring spooky tales to the palace.

Spooky Tours and Trails

Group travel organisers can choose from a selection including Castle Howard’s Halloween trail which runs through Ray Wood. Alternatively, join the Burghley House Pumpkin Trail around the Sculpture Garden and find the hidden pumpkins to receive a special treat. Leeds Castle is also running Ghost Tours between 29th and 31st of October, and its restaurant will be serving a range of Halloween-themed food.

Holkham Hall’s Halloween

Holkham invites groups between 27th to 31st October into a magical and mystical mayhem, where you will be greeted with a cast of creepy characters in the courtyard and Bygones Museum. Create a potion or spell with the wizard, or listen to some ghoulish storytelling.

Those organising group travel to Holkham might also be interested in its scary basement tours – presenting visitors with the opportunity to hunt for all things ghoulish in the underground labyrinth of the hall.
