Hadrian’s Wall bus tours launch this summer

‘Discover Hadrian’s Wall’ tours is offering groups a new way to experience the history of the World Heritage Site this summer.

Bus tours, departing from Carlisle, will take groups to key locations along Hadrian’s Wall, taking in views of the 13th-century Lanercost Priory and stopping at Birdoswald Fort – the longest continuous stretch of Hadrian’s Wall.

Groups will get the chance to visit Northumberland National Park where the local tour guide will show them the remains of the Vallum, a huge earthwork which lies just south of Hadrian’s Wall.

There is also the option to visit the Roman Vindolanda Fort and Museum, or view the scenery from a 360 degree vantage point at Housesteads Roman Fort.

Weekday tours last five hours and run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays until mid-September.
