The Houses of Parliament has launched two new ‘Art and Architecture in Parliament’ tours: ‘Royalty and Splendour in the House of Lords’, and ‘Contemporary Portraiture in Portcullis House’, now available for group bookings.

The Westminster icon is home to some of the nation’s greatest works of art and architectural design from the Victorian period up to the present day. The new guided tours will aim to open up these national treasures to visiting groups.

The 75-minute ‘Royalty and Splendour in the House of Lords’ will run from 5.30pm on selected Friday evenings throughout spring and summer, offering a VIP experience after doors close to the public. Exploring the frescos, portraits, statues, thrones, fireplaces and furniture in the Palace of Westminster, tours will finish will a glass of champagne in a private room. Tours cost £30 per person.

Running four times a day on selected Fridays during spring and summer, ‘Contemporary Portraiture in Portcullis House’ will explore the building’s contemporary architecture and its art collection. Tours cost £12 per person for groups of ten plus.

Groups keen to book for both tours can purchase a joint ticket for £40 per person.
