Group Lunchtime Bookings Now Welcome At Yarn Market Hotel %7C Group Travel News

The Yarn Market Hotel, which is situated in the Medieval village of Dunster, is now welcoming pre-booked groups for lunchtime bookings.

The restaurant will offer menus tailored to groups, ranging from sandwiches and afternoon cream tea to full cooked lunches.

The hotel previously did not open its restaurant during the day.

The independent three-star family run hotel specialises in being a base for walking holidays and special interest breaks, such as railway, garden and music trips. Plus it offers murder mystery weekends.

Upcoming events

Between the 3rd and 5th of June, the hotel will host a summer singing choral weekend, which begins on Friday evening with dinner in the restaurant and ends on Sunday afternoon with a performance.

The weekend, which will be led by Ian Chesworth, also includes an afternoon excursion on the Saturday, followed by evening entertainment.

On the 2nd and 3rd of December, groups can visit Dunster and book a visit to the hotel for Dunster by Candlelight, a seasonal weekend which sees the village’s streets illuminated by candles and lanterns.

The event also sees carol singers and street entertainers roam the village, and village shops will be selling their wares.

About Dunster

Dunster is a popular destination for group visits to Somerset and Exmoor National Park, and boasts a number of different attractions.

One popular attraction is the historic Dunster Castle, which is a former motte and bailey castle. The structure has a history that dates back 1,000 years and is situated on a hill, meaning there are plenty of opportunities to overlook the city from within its walls.

Dunster village is also home to a working water mill, a packhorse bridge and a Dolls Museum.

Groups can also visit the old Yarn Market building, which was built in the 17th century and is a Grade I listed building.
