Group Leisure new media partner for Excursions exhibition

Group Leisure has confirmed it is the new main media partner for the annual Excursions exhibition, organised by Tourism South East.

Excursions 2016 will mark the show’s 40th year and will take place on Saturday 23rd January at Alexandra Palace in north London. It’s a show where travel organisers can meet exhibitors, network and pick up new inspiration for group day trips, short breaks and holidays.

Nigel Smith, chief executive of Tourism South East, commented: “We are very pleased to be working closely with Group Leisure magazine on taking Excursions forward and even in our early discussions they have proved to be refreshingly professional with a background in running their own successful show, and have an established and very relevant readership that will be ideal to increase visitors to Excursions.”

Group Leisure publisher, Rob Yandell said: “We feel positive about supporting an established exhibition in Excursions. I know that TSE will be working hard to provide the group travel sector with an enjoyable and valuable day out at London’s Alexandra Palace in January - we’re looking forward to our new media partnership.”

The show will launch a series of new initiatives for its anniversary year, including an exclusive Excursions 40th ruby red gin cocktail by global brand Bombay Sapphire. The cocktail (or a less potent mocktail) will be offered free to all visitors in the Bombay Sapphire Gin Cocktail Lounge.

The Bombay Sapphire Distillery at Laverstoke Mill in rural Hampshire offers visitors the chance to go behind the scenes and discover the craftsmanship and heritage behind its production. They will be bringing the highlights of this experience to Excursions for visitors to try.

In addition, VisitEngland and London & Partners have once again announced their support and it has been revealed that Group Leisure will produce the official preview in the lead-up to the event.
