Gleneagles to get a £1.1 million revamp

Date Posted: 22/01/2015

Investing over a million pounds, the Gleneagles Hotel, Perthshire, will refurbish its bedrooms, as part of a continuing series of upgrades.

36 of the five star hotel’s 232 bedrooms will be given a fresh look that includes bespoke carpets from Wilton Carpets; a collection of plush soft furnishings and wall coverings from companies including Osborne & Little and Harlequin, and designer light fittings from Heathfield.

Gavin Liddle of Greyline Designs, commented: “The main palette for the new bedroom schemes draws once again from the beautiful countryside that surrounds Gleneagles.

“The beautiful indigenous colours of heather and silvery lichen-greens establish the hotel’s connection to its surroundings, enriched by colours essential to modern interior design such as silver, zinc, ivory and taupe.”

Scheduled for completion in April, the refurbishment marks the latest in a long line of upgrades; the hotel has also declared the launch of a new 2,500 square metre conference venue and tennis centre, The Gleneagles Arena, for this spring.

With shared bedrooms to suit group bookings, the hotel also offers a wide range of activities, from Falconry to off-road Land Rover safaris, in addition to the use of its three tournament golf courses that lie within Gleneagles 850 acre estate.
