The full line-up has been announced for the 2011 Norfolk & Norwich Festival, which runs from the 6th to 21st May.

Welcoming performers from every corner of the globe, international visitors include Staff Benda Billili, world-celebrated street musicians from the Congo; with Australia’s finest circus performers headlining the Spiegeltent; Thai dance from Pichet Klunchun Dance Company; political theatre from Iran’s Mehr Theatre Group; the Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra from Russia; and a double bill from Ballet Nacional de España.

Visitors can look forward to two free night-time shows: an aerial spectacular from Wired Aerial Theatre; and The Wolves - a fantastical re-working of the tale of the Pied Piper of Hamelin, where the audience will be led through the streets of Norwich.

Norwich’s EPIC Studios will host theatre from Iran, Argentina and France, while music lovers can enjoy a new festival commission from the Voice Project Choir, Norwich’s renowned open-access choir.

With a number of free events available, Andy Sheppard’s Saxophone Massive will launch the festival on 6th May, followed by a packed weekend of family-friendly entertainment in Norwich city centre.

Visitors can take the opportunity to participate in a variety of new experiences, including tea dances in the Spiegaltent, a Knowledge Emporium in 1950s airstream caravan, and a bicycle-powered cinema in Bowthorpe. Groups can also join in Joshua Sofaer’s Norfolk-wide Street Hunt.
