Free Betty Blue Eyes theatre night for readers

Date Posted: 04/06/2011

Next in our series of reader theatre nights is new West End musical Betty Blue Eyes. Group Leisure and ticketing agency Group Line are offering GTOs the opportunity to enjoy a performance of the show for free on Wednesday 13th July, at the Novello Theatre in London.

Cameron Mackintosh’s hit British musical is set in 1947, as the good folk of Shepardsford, Yorkshire, prepare to celebrate the forthcoming Royal Wedding of Princess Elizabeth to Philip Mountbatten. Determined to defy strict rationings and mark the occasion accordingly, the town council are fattening up an illegal pig called Betty, for a banquet in honour of the royal couple.

Guests will be treated to a 7.30pm showing, with an interval drinks reception, followed by a post-show backstage meet-and-greet with some members of the cast.
