Table Mountain South Africa

In January 2018 groups will be able to cruise along the coast of South Africa with Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines.

The inaugural South Africa Fly Cruise will take place onboard Boudicca and last for 14 nights.

The itinerary begins in Cape Town and includes overnight visits to Port Elizabeth, Richards Bay, Durban and Mossel Bay before ending with a three-night stay back in Cape Town.

The overnight stops have been included so that passengers have the opportunity go on game drives to see the Big Five.

Nathan Philpot, sales and marketing director for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said: “The highlight for me is the beautiful, award-winning city of Cape Town. There is so much to do here that we are staying for three nights.

“Scale Table Mountain by cable car; discover the winelands of Stellenbosch or Constantia; take a stroll along Camps Bay; dine, shop and be entertained at the impressive Victoria & Alfred Waterfront complex; and visit what is perhaps the most beautiful cricket ground in the world, at Newlands.

“You might like to discover Cape Town on the back of a Harley Davidson; take a boat out whale- and dolphin-watching; or even go shark diving!”

More about the ports

Also known as The Bay or The Friendly City, Port Elizabeth is one of the largest cities in South Africa.

Visitors who don’t opt to go on a game drive can visit the bell tower to take in views across the city, or follow the Route 67 walking trail, which showcases 67 different public artworks.

Richards Bay is located on a 30 square metre lagoon. The city is close to the New Mouth game reserve, which is made up of mudflats, mangroves and forest areas and home to rare birds, hippos and crocodiles.

Durban, meanwhile, is one of the biggest cities on the Indian Ocean coast of the African continent. As well as being a springboard for game drives, it’s also home to the largest street market in South Africa and a revolving restaurant.

Finally, a trip to Mossel Bay offers the opportunity to visit the Outeniqua Mountains.

Bookings for this trip are being taken from 24th May 2016. To find out more visit www.fredolsencruises.com.
