Foodie land tours from Oceania Cruises

Oceania Cruises has created a series of Culinary Creations excursions that foodie groups can opt for as part of their holiday.

The ‘land tours’ are available from spring 2016 and will be offered in Rome, Barcelona, Provence, Tuscany, Greece, London and Argentina during select sailings on board Nautica, Marina, Riviera and Sirena (pictured).

The Culinary Creations Land Tours provide guests with gastronomic interests an opportunity to interact with local culinary experts by exploring local food markets, cooking schools, restaurants and attractions.

The excursions range from two to three nights and are available as pre, post or during a cruise, when itineraries feature more than one night in a port.

As part of the Provence excursion, groups will travel into the countryside for a three-night stay at the Château de Berne where they will help prepare a traditional Provençal lunch at the château using ingredients from the chef’s vegetable and herb gardens.

After sampling wine and local delicacies between tours of traditional villages, groups will discover the historic charms of Le Thoronet and Cotignac, and learn about local olive oil production and regional specialties in Moulin de Pascaline. There will also be a tasting and tour of a private wine cellar.
