Flower Festival returns to Salisbury Cathedral

Date Posted: 16/02/2011

Salisbury Cathedral’s popular Flower Festival will take place from the 14th to 19th June.

Group visitors will be able to enjoy a mix of contemporary, traditional and interpretative displays, as the cathedral is filled with thousands of flowers and floral arrangements.

With two large-scale hanging installations at the West End and Spire Crossing, the North Aisle of the cathedral will be dedicated to arrangements inspired by quotations from the King James Bible, honouring its 400th anniversary in 2011. Interpretative designs will explore the themes of splendour, power, glory and majesty, with a special piece inspired by Anthony Gormley’s Flare II which will be suspended in the South Transept.

The Flower Festival will be open daily from 10am, with a late-night visiting opportunity on Thursday 16th June from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. Discounted rates are available for groups of 12 or more people.
