Evening tours of Plas Mawr

Date Posted: 08/03/2011

Historic townhouse, Plas Mawr in Conwy, north Wales, will be hosting evening tours once again this year, starting from the 14th April.

Led by Blodwen the maid (Blue Badge guide Rhian Wyn Jones), visiting groups can explore the hidden crevices of the supposedly haunted house, uncovering the history and mysteries of the Elizabethan residence.

The tours will also provide an opportunity to view the lavish interior decoration of the house, with its ornate fireplaces and intricate plasterwork. Plas Mawr is considered a dramatic testimony to the new wealth available to the Tudor gentry in Wales after the Act of Union.

Two tours will take place each Thursday, lasting for one hour. Accommodating up to 22 people, private tours can also be arranged, subject to availability. The tours will increase to twice weekly during the summer months.
