English Heritage properties extend opening

Date Posted: 08/01/2013

English Heritage properties, Wrest Park in Bedfordshire and Audley End House and Gardens in Essex, will extend their opening hours from 29th March to 3rd November.

Now open on a daily basis, the extra days should allow more flexibility when planning a group trip to either attraction. Until now, both sites have previously only opened on a daily basis during the school holidays.

Audley End House and Gardens recently opened its Victorian Service Wing experience alongside the stables, complete with equine residents, which have proved popular.

Combine a group visit to both Audley End and Wrest Park

The Jacobean mansion, with its Capabillity Brown-designed gardens, can also be combined with a visit to Wrest Park, a 45 minute drive away in neighbouring Bedfordshire.

Since the first phase of its landscape restoration was completed in 2011, visitors can now visit its once-secret garden. Twice daily pre-booked guided tours are available to take groups around the 90-acre grounds and garden buildings.

Group discounts

English Heritage offers a 15 per cent discount for groups of 11 or more paying visitors, at each of these sites.
