The 24th England’s Medieval Festival will take place this year at Herstmonceux Castle in Sussex from 27th to 29th August, and group tickets are on sale now.
The festival encompasses all thing Medieval, from re-enacted historical battles and horse shows to archery and jousting shows.
Things to see and do
Groups can take part in a number of activities throughout the weekend. A collection of workshops will take place, where visitors can learn about skills such as the making of chain mail; iron work; wood weaving; calligraphy; brass rubbing; candle making; and stone carving.
There will be twice daily jousting shows, as well as a grand Medieval parade on each day, and a torch lit procession each evening.
Re-enactors dressed up as jesters, jugglers, wizards and princesses will be entertaining across the site. Bird of prey displays, fire shows, a comedy show staged in the mud, and an outdoor evening cinema can also be enjoyed.
For younger visitors, there will be a Kids’ Kingdom. Drum, sword and jester schools; archery and bush craft workshops; stage shows and pony rides will all take place here.
Additional festival highlights will include hundreds of traditional craftsmen and traders selling Medieval-style products.
Visitors can also enjoy a hog roast, and a range of craft ales, ciders and mead at the Buxom Wench & Jester Taverns.

Group visitors
GTOs can opt for a day visit, or a longer stay; Medieval-themed glamping, standard camping in the castle grounds, or a real bed in the onsite bed and breakfast are available to book over the festival weekend.
A designated area for coach parking is available. Plus, discounted entry rates are in place for parties of 15 or more, and there is free entry and a meal for the driver.
