Date Posted: 19/07/2012

HF Holidays is introducing a new guided walking and touring holiday for 2013 which promises groups an experience of authentic southern India.

Available with departures in January, November and December, Spice Trails of Kerala takes in the rich and colourful culture and heritage of the less-visited northern region of Kerala, and its neighbouring state of Karnakata.

Tour highlights

Starting in the city of Bangalore, highlights include a walking tour of the historic and cultural city of Mysore, scenic safaris at Nagarhole sanctuary, and wildlife walks led by local naturalists on the Kuruva islands.

There are also walks through spice-scented cardamom plantations and tea gardens, as well as the pristine wilderness of the Wayanad, including a visit to the prehistoric cave art at Edakkal.

Also incorporated is a cruise on a luxury houseboat through the backwaters and a walking tour of the old colonial city of Fort Kochi, followed by a traditional Kathakali performance.

Range of accommodation

Three to five-star group accommodation includes secluded rainforest lodges, colonial hotels and a night at the Bison - a boutique safari tented camp - in addition to one-night aboard the luxury houseboat.
