Eating London culinary tour

On the back of its tours in the East End and Soho, tour operator Eating London is expanding its offerings in the capital with the launch of two new culinary tours.

The tours are suitable for groups of up to 12 people and take in parts of Brick Lane and the Docklands. Group travel organisers are also able to book private tours, which are priced on application.

Flavours of ‘Banglatown’

The Brick Lane - Flavours of India & Beyond Tour is a two and half hour guided walk that focuses on Indian food.

Through nine tastings, participants will indulge in the many different flavours of ‘Banglatown’ a neighbourhood that offers insight into South Asian culture. From raw tamarind to traditional fish curries washed down with a mango lassi, the experience will expose guests to the region’s best flavours.

The tour also includes viewing street art, visiting an authentic Bangladeshi food shop selling exotic ingredients from South Asia, and exploring the link between India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Britain through stories about each community.

Brews and pub grub

The new London Docks - Historic Pubs and Classic Grub Tour, meanwhile, takes guests to old pirate and artist hangouts, one historic pub at a time, including what’s said to be the oldest riverside pub in London.

This four hour guided tour covers tales of pirates, thieves and artists, told in the same places they once called home, and serves up craft brews and pub grub.

Guest will also get to walk through a quieter residential area, lined with cobblestone lanes and old warehouses to see riverside views of London’s skyline.
