East Midlands Food and Drink Festival welcomes groups

Date Posted: 23/06/2011

The East Midlands Food and Drink Festival returns to the exhibition halls at Melton Mowbray Cattle Market on the 1st and 2nd October.

This year’s festival invites visiting groups to take a trip down memory lane with new feature, the Vintage Gadget Roadshow. Find out about the history of your retro kitchen appliances, and view a selection from a museum collection. Groups can also discover more in the Retro Kitchen, and explore Food Through the Ages with fascinating facts and a display of fare from as far back as Medieval England.

The festival will feature a host of hands-on activities for children in the Family Food and Fun Zone, plus there will be a variety of displays for adult parties, including demonstrations from Linda Hewett of the School of Bread Making. A host of food stalls will boast a variety of gourmet fare, from Melton Mowbray pork pie and stilton cheese, to Melton hunt cake and Melton red beer.

Groups of ten or more people can take advantage of free places for the GTO and coach driver, with free coach parking and a complimentary meet and greet service.
