Early-bird tickets on sale for Salute to the ‘40s

Groups can now purchase early-bird tickets for Salute to the ‘40s at the Chatham Historic Dockyard.

Early-bird tickets for fast track entry are currently available for Salute to the ‘40s, an event celebrating the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, at the Chatham Historic Dockyard in Kent.

The line-up of 1940s entertainment available on the day will include performances from 1940s’ vocalists Madeline Brown, The Polka Dot Dolls and Natasha Harper.

The Three Towns Theatre Company will perform a mock 1940s’ radio show while Gypsy John and the Cinque Ports Lindy Hoppers will be hosting workshops for traditional ‘40s dances the lindy hop, swing, and jive in the British Family Fayre area.

Salute for the ‘40s will also feature appearances by The London Swing Orchestra, The Femmes, a 1940s’ close harmony group, DJ Danger UXB and four-piece ensemble Justin and the Argonauts.

Other highlights include air displays from the ‘Spirit of Kent’ Spitfire, a vintage fair, and parade of vintage fashion.

Saluate to the '40s takes place over the 19th and 20th September.

There are also discounted admission rates available for pre-booked groups of 15 or more.
